Get to know powerapps

You may simply design apps that are suited to your organization’s specific needs using Microsoft Power Platform. Power Apps helps in building customised business applications that helps you in connecting data from different platforms.

Let us understand different data platforms/ terms first

Azure

Azure is Microsoft’s platform for “Online” or “Cloud-Computing” services. Microsoft delivers its application software as a service (SaaS) like Office 365, Dynamics 365, etc. through its self-managed data centres where the platform is called Azure which itself is made available for different services (PaaS) like DataVerse, Virtual Machines, etc. Basically, using Azure Microsoft provides the ability for individuals and organizations to have a fully virtual interface for their software and in-a-way hardware needs. Node.js, Java, .NET, and other tools, languages, and frameworks are supported by Microsoft Azure. Microsoft’s best-in-class development tools assist you in producing high-quality code. To boost your productivity, Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code are supported.

1. Microsoft Power Platform

Power BI, PowerApps, and Power Automate are the three Microsoft products that make up the ‘Power Platform’. They can be used with Office 365 and Dynamics 365 to allow people effortlessly manage, surface, automate, and analyse data. Data democratisation — the ability for digital information to be available to the average (non-technical) end user – is enabled by the Power Platform. It includes three technologies that enable employees to do more with their data without having to know how to code. While it lacks the complexity and versatility of bespoke coding, it does provide a straightforward mechanism for most users to create, automate, or analyse their data in ways that the workforce has never been able to.

2. Microsoft Data verse

Dataverse allows you to store and manage data that is used by business applications in a safe manner. Data is saved in a series of tables in Dataverse. A table is made up of rows (formerly known as records) and columns (formerly known as fields/attributes). Each column in the table is intended to hold a certain type of information, such as a person’s name, age, and salary.Dataverse’s standard and bespoke tables offer a secure, cloud-based storage alternative for your data. Tables allow you to define your company’s data in a business-focused way for use in apps. If you’re not sure whether tables are the best option for you, consider the number of advantages say security, easy management, accessibility, logics and validation and other productivity tools.

3. SharePoint

Dynamics SharePoint is a web-based collaboration system that enables corporate teams to collaborate by using workflow applications, “list” databases, and other web components and security features. Dynamics SharePoint also allows companies to restrict information access and automate workflow procedures across corporate groups.Every project team, department, and division may benefit from SharePoint’s dynamic and productive team sites. Files, data, news, and resources can all be shared. Customize your site to make your team’s work easier.

4. SQL server

SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft (RDBMS). It’s a full-featured database that’s primarily intended to compete with Oracle Database (DB) and MySQL.Large organisations with complicated data requirements, data warehousing, and Web-enabled databases can benefit from this solution. It has all the functionality of SQL Server and the most expensive licence fee.Using Power Apps, you can quickly build custom business apps that connect to your data stored either in the underlying data platform (Microsoft Dataverse) or in various online and on-premises data sources (such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, SQL Server, and so on).

Power app and azure

Azure helps you in connecting and controlling billions of devices by giving you a flexibility to develop and manage with simplicity on a fully flexible application platform.

How Microsoft is bringing all things at a single platform

Cloud and edge computing are merging like never before, opening up enormous opportunities for developers and organisations all around the world. Digital twins, mixed reality, and autonomous systems are at the forefront of a great wave of innovation that is already benefiting our consumers.

Benefits of Microsoft Power Apps

1. Microsoft flow

Microsoft Flow is linked with Power Apps. This Power Programs feature allows apps to react to changing or updating data without having to create your own poll or check to notify the app that an update has occurred.

2. Mobile ready

You can develop for a phone form factor directly in the same interface with Power Apps, so you can be confident that whatever wonderful new software you’re working on will function for your road warriors. Because of the simple interface and common connectors, it’s likely that a mobile-friendly version can be simply created using the same data access as the desktop version.

3. Easy standard connectors

Knowing how to connect to data is one of the most difficult aspects of building apps for non-professional developers. While all of the attractive drag and drop interface features make developing the front end simple, they won’t assist an accounting department power user build a comprehensive programme. Many conventional data storage services are straightforward to connect to and utilise with Power Apps thanks to Microsoft Power Apps connectors.

Power App Development approach provides the ability to build a application that can easily run on both browsers as well as mobile devices. With new emerging tech trends there is always an issue for data loss or concern about Data security but everything is resolvable as Power Apps helps in building Secure Applications. Can you please help me with “How Difference is PowerApps from Power Automate?”

PowerApps is platform for developing apps while Power Automate is predominantly a back-end tool for facilitating integration/ connection and automated execution of specific logic.

While both are part of Microsoft Power Platform, but their purpose of usage is very distinct

You can use a PowerApp that utilizes Power Automate in certain scenarios and can use them independently as well
